At Valley of the Moon Winery quality begins in the vineyard, with a thorough viticulture tradition that is as rich and deep as the soil in which our grapes are grown.
For generations we’ve been working with select growers in Sonoma County—some since the 1930s—who know the value of careful stewardship of the land. On our own estate we have old vine Zinfandel vineyards that date back to the 1930s, as well as more recent plantings of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, and Barbera. We employ low impact viticulture practices to preserve the diversity of our natural surroundings without compromising the quality of fruit.
At Valley of the Moon each block from every vineyard is handled separately with the attention to detail required for premium winemaking. The results are high quality grapes that reflect the unique Sonoma soils in which they are grown.
